By adopting these ethical principles, the journal ensures transparency, fairness, and accountability throughout the editorial and publication process.

Authors’ Responsibilities

  • Authors must submit only original and significant works that are free from plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, redundant publication, and other forms of unethical research practices.
  • Proper acknowledgment of sources, citations, and contributions is mandatory, and all listed authors must meet the criteria for authorship.
  • Manuscripts must not be under simultaneous consideration by another journal.
  • Research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data must comply with international ethical standards such as the Declaration of Helsinki and must obtain prior approval from an appropriate institutional ethics committee.
  • Authors are required to disclose all potential conflicts of interest and funding sources that may influence their work.
  • Findings must be reported with accuracy, clarity, and honesty, regardless of whether results are positive or negative.

Reviewers’ Responsibilities

  • Reviewers play a critical role in maintaining the scientific quality and integrity of the journal by providing objective, fair, and constructive evaluations of submitted manuscripts.
  • They must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and may not use the content for personal benefit.
  • Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest and decline review assignments if they are unqualified or unable to provide an unbiased assessment.
  • Reviews should be completed within the designated timeframe and should assist authors in improving the clarity, rigor, and quality of their manuscripts.
  • Any suspected misconduct, plagiarism, or ethical concerns must be promptly reported to the editorial office.

Editors’ Responsibilities

  • Editors are entrusted to make fair, impartial, and timely decisions on submitted manuscripts based solely on their academic merit, relevance, and originality, without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, or institutional affiliation.
  • Editors must ensure the confidentiality of all manuscripts and the anonymity of both authors and reviewers during the peer-review process.
  • Editors are responsible for actively preventing conflicts of interest and must take appropriate action if ethical violations, plagiarism, or research misconduct are suspected or confirmed.
  • In cases of proven misconduct, editors will follow COPE’s guidelines by issuing corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions as necessary.

Publisher’s Responsibilities

  • The publisher, Yayasan Jekson Adriel Medisindo, supports the journal by ensuring the availability of infrastructure, editorial independence, and adherence to best practices in scholarly publishing.
  • The publisher works in close collaboration with editors to maintain ethical integrity and to safeguard the scholarly record.
  • In cases of proven ethical breaches, the publisher will take corrective actions, including issuing errata, corrections, or retractions, and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence.

Handling Allegations of Misconduct

  • Allegations of research misconduct—including plagiarism, data falsification, image manipulation, redundant publication, or citation manipulation—will be investigated thoroughly following COPE’s procedures.
  • Authors will be notified of the allegation and given the opportunity to respond.
  • If misconduct is confirmed, actions may include rejection of the manuscript, retraction of published articles, and notification of the authors’ affiliated institutions or relevant authorities.
  • The journal reserves the right to impose sanctions, such as temporary or permanent bans on future submissions, in cases of severe or repeated violations.

Appeals and Complaints

  • The journal maintains a transparent process for handling appeals and complaints related to editorial decisions, peer review, or ethical concerns.
  • Complaints will be evaluated objectively and resolved in accordance with COPE guidelines to ensure fairness and accountability.
